Obagi

There is no better way to treat pigmentation on your skin regardless of skin type or Colour. Obagi is the gold standard for the treatment of pigmentation in ALL skin types, acne, dry skin, oily skin, and other complexion woes.

As Obagi Nuderm System is a prescription skin care system, it cannot be advertised in the UK. However, it is the the most prescribed skin care system in the US. Best known for its impressive results when treating sun spots and uneven pigmentation, if Obagi Nuderm doesn't work then it is unlikely that any topical systems, creams or ointments will.

But the Obagi Nuderm System is not just for pigmentation. This is prescription skincare at its finest, designed to improve and prevent all of the most common and visible signs of skin ageing e.g. dry, lacklustre, sagging skin, uneven tone and rough texture. It is also a fantastic treatment for acne-prone skin.

Obagi is a safe system, created in 1988 after years of development and testing. The products will make your skin healthier, working better as well as looking better.

At Medicetics, we have treated hundreds of patients with the Nuderm System over the last 10 years, so we know exactly how to tailor your treatment. This has been acknowledged by the manufacturers - Medicetics have been appointed an Obagi Ambassador Clinic for the UK.

1. Obagi can only be provided by doctors.
You won’t find Obagi at your local Boots; only physicians and doctors can prescribe and sell this product. A Medicetics doctor can determine your skin needs and prescribe the right Obagi product for you.

2. There’s an Obagi product for every skin issue.
Whether you have acne, hyperpigmentation, dull skin, wrinkles, or any other skin issue under the sun, Obagi has a powerful product line that can target your skin concerns.

3. Obagi can speed up cellular turnover.
Clients who are looking for radiant, younger-looking skin can benefit from Obagi, particularly the Nu-Derm line. This product line is guaranteed to accelerate cellular turnover.

4. You’ll go through 4 phases of transformation.
These phases include the Reaction Phase, the Tolerance Phase, the Corrected Phase, and the Lifetime Maintenance Phase. Your Medicetics doctor will point out what to expect from each individual stage.

5. Treatments are delivered in 6 to 12-week cycles.
During each treatment cycle, you can expect your skin to react in different ways. Each cycle is meant to encourage the production of healthy and normal skin cells for a faster cellular turnover. Additionally, each cycle increases the production of collagen and elastin within the skin.

You may be a good candidate for Obagi skin care if:

  • You’re committed to maintaining your skin care regimen
  • You’re not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You will use sun protection

Obagi results are typically classified into four stages. During the first phase (which lasts for six weeks), your top skin layer will be replaced by new skin cells. During this time, you may experience flaking, redness, peeling, and dry skin.

During phase two, collagen and elastin levels will increase, meaning wrinkles will look faded. The skin will begin to lighten, and redness and flaking will dissipate. During phase three, you’ll notice a hydrate and even skin tone that’s firm to the touch. The fourth phase is the maintenance phase, which will help you prevent future damage and preserve your fantastic results.
