1.Eyelashes are made from mostly protein.

In order to grow lashes, eyelash growth products work with each individual lash’s keratin, thus supporting prolonged, long-lasting growth.

2.Eyelashes that grow so much they need to be trimmed.

We have had clients that have had such a success that there eyelashes havegrown too much and start rubbing on sunglasses!! A quick trim and reducingusage to every other night soon fixes that problem.

3.Results depend on your maintenance.

If you continue to use this eyelash growth treatment, usually every other day, you should see long-lasting results. If, however, you stop using the eyelash growth product, you’ll see your lashes return to normal after two months (the normal lifecycle of eyelashes).

4.Long lashes are the height of beauty and style!

Every wonder how celebrities get long, luscious eyelashes? That’s because many of them are using this product to get the long lashes that are so desirable in Hollywood. It’s no surprise, considering that long lashes symbolize femininity.

5.Detailed instructions will be provided to you.

It’s vital to follow the instructions of your Medicetics doctor, who will show you how to apply the product to your eyelid skin. Your doctor will also provide you with safety instructions to preserve your ocular health.

You may be a good candidate for eyelash growth:

• You’re unhappy with the appearance of your lashes
• You have thin, brittle lashes
• Your lashes are small and sparse
• You’d like to achieve fuller, thicker lashes

Aftercare and Recovery

During your initial consultation with a Medicetics doctor, you’ll be provided with instructions as to how to apply the eyelash growth product to your upper eyelid skin (close to the lash line). Clients should expect to see 100% results after twelve weeks of application; most clients will start to see noticeable improvement after eight weeks.

Rare side effects can include itching and redness of the eye for a few days at the start of use. Other less common side effects include darkening of the eyelid skin if too much is applied, this is corrected by reducing amount used and dryness of the eye.

Before and After Photos

1. What is Lumigan/ Latisse?

Lumigan solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. The active ingredient is 0.03% Bimatoprost. The product we use at Medicetics is sold under a different brand name Lumigan however it is the exact same drug 0.03% Bimatoprost as Latisse, both are manufactured by Allergan.

2. Are there any special warnings associated with Lumigan use?

Lumigan solution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. DO NOT APPLY to the lower eyelid. If you are using other products for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), or if you have a history of abnormal IOP, you should only use Lumigan under the close supervision of your physician. Lumigan use may cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible. Lumigan use may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the coloured part of the eye which is likely to be long term. It is possible for hair growth to occur in other areas of your skin that Lumigan frequently touches. Any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin should be blotted with a tissue or other absorbent material to reduce the chance of this from happening. It is also possible for a difference in eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation, number of eyelash hairs, and/or direction of eyelash growth to occur between eyes. These differences, should they occur, will usually go away if you stop using Lumigan.

3. Who should I tell that I am using Lumigan?

You should tell your Doctor you are using Lumigan if you have a history of eye pressure problems. You should also tell anyone conducting an eye pressure screening that you are using Lumigan.

4. What should I do if I get Lumigan in my eye?

Lumigan solution is an ophthalmic drug product. Lumigan is not expected to cause harm if it gets into the eye proper. Do not attempt to rinse your eye in this situation.

5. What are the possible side effects of LATISSE?

The most common side effects after using LATISSE solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients.

Lumigan solution may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where Lumigan is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.

If you develop a new ocular condition (e.g., trauma or infection), experience a sudden decrease in visual acuity, have ocular surgery, or develop any ocular reactions, particularly conjunctivitis and eyelid reactions, you should immediately call us to advise on the continued use of Lumigan solution.

6. What happens if I stop using Lumigan?

The recommended dosage is one application nightly to the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the eyelashes only.

If you stop using LATISSE, your eyelashes are expected to return to their previous appearance after 2 months (may be less in some cases).

Any eyelid skin darkening is expected to reverse after several weeks to months.

Any darkening of the coloured part of the eye known as the iris is NOT expected to reverse and is likely long term. In clinical trials of lumigan at this strength only 1 patient had very minor changes in iris pigmentation out of approx. 2000 patients.
