Thread Lifts
The thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to lift the skin, which takes as little as 1 – 1.5 hours to perform. There are two types of thread lift treatment that we offer, and the most suitable for you will be decided by your practitioner. The PDO thread lift utilises 3D multi-directional barbed threads that give an immediate mechanical lift and continues to lift via fibrosis and tissue contraction over the following 3 months.
Silhouette Soft® is comprised of Polylactic acid (PLA), a well known poymer that has been used for many years and has a long history of use in the medical industry as resorbable suture. Silhouette Soft threads differ from PDO threads in that it is cones which hold them in place, and in time stimulate the body’s production of collagen, replacing depleted facial volume.
Both are long lasting absorbable threads to ensure the lift lasts at least 18 months post procedure. The results are significantly more than skin tightening but not as significant as full surgery.
At Medicetics we can advise you on whether you are suitable for treatment. The most common areas we treat are the midface, lower face and jowls, neck and brow.

FAQS
This process helps to raise the outer brow area, reduce jowling along the jawline, and reduce sagging in the cheeks, naso-labial (nose to mouth) folds and the lower eye areas.
1. South Korea leading the way!
Thread lifts have been around for a while, and in the last few years have seen a refinement by Doctors in South Korea, with threads that are fully absorbable, strong and long lasting enough for the body’s natural tissues to take over). This has resulted in an explosion in the number of – and demand for – thread lift treatments.
2. 30 years old.
Threads are made from a surgical material that has been in use for many years in the medical industry, proving that they are safe, strong and long-lasting.
3. It’s all natural at 1 year.
After 6-8 months the lift from the procedure is actually entirely your own tissue formed by fibrosis around the threads, and perimysium of the muscle, however this effect will still last at least 18 months.
4. Buttocks, cheeks and high heels.
In Korea, PDO threads are used to reduce the square appearance of the face lifting it into a V. They are also used to help lift and firm the buttocks and make the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) look more prominent in high heels!
5. Lift and plump.
The Medicetics v6 lift for the face not only helps to lift skin but also helps fix drooping fat pads reducing or even completing removing the need for fillers to volumize the face whilst giving a much more natural appearance
Ideal candidates:
• Loss of volume in upper face
• Age-related volume loss
• Sudden weight loss
• Exercise-related volume loss “runners face”
• Loss of cheek bones
• Heavy nasolabial/ mouth to nose lines
• Jowls
• Sagging chin or neck
The procedure takes around 60-90 minutes to perform. Common side effects are swelling and bruising, however, no more than having mid face fillers.
Areas that have had significant lifting may have some unevenness on the skin for the first 3-7 days, this always fully resolves. The mouth region can feel taut and we advise to avoid dentistry in the first 4 weeks after treatment.
