Skin PeelsSkin peels treat the appearance of sun damage, scars, hyperpigmentation, and other skin woes. Skin peels can vary significantly in strength from a light exfoliation with no down time to deeper peels to treat pigmentation and deep lines. Skin peels are also a great option for clients who want to treat signs of aging, including wrinkles, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. Skin peels are a cost-effective, non-invasive approach to improving skin, with results that can last from months to years. Milder peels are available for consistent maintenance for healthy skin. Medicetics offers a variety of skin peels for clients with various complexion issues. Our skin peel offerings include the Obagi Radiance peel, Mandelic, Jessners, Pyruvic and Salicylic Enerpeels, Epionce and Neostrata peels. We offer peels specifically designed for the eye and lip area, as well as hands, décolletage and other areas of the body. The duration and recovery process depends on the skin peel you've opted for, but usually, there is little or no visible peeling after the procedure - your skin will simply feel a little tight for a few days following treatment.

1. Skin peels can promote new cellular growth.
In addition to removing dead skin cells, many peels can be used to accelerate the production of brand-new skin cells for healthier, thicker, younger-looking skin.
2. “Lunch-Time” peels are all the rage.
“Lunch-Time” peels – those peels that can be performed within minutes – are incredibly popular at Medicetics. These peels are typically gentler – your practitioner will offer to apply foundation afterwards (Oxygenetix is a breathable formula designed for use after procedures) so that there will be no signs of the treatment whatsoever when you leave. So as to prevent significant redness and peeling.
3. We’re one of the few clinics to offer Epionce skin peels.
Epionce skin peels use a 4-step system for maximum results. These peels are only available from American dermatologists and a few skin clinics in the United Kingdom – and we’re one of them!
4. Peels can treat scarring from acne and trauma.
If you still look like you have acne due to your scars, skin peels can help you achieve a glowing, flawless complexion. Scars from accidents and traumas can also be treated with more powerful peels.
5. All skin peels are not equal.
Mild glycolic skin peels will have little or no downtime and work to brighten up the skin. Our deeper peels (TCA) penetrate deeper into the skin and can leave redness and flaking for a few days, however they are able to remove pigmentation and deeper lines. The deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time BUT the greater the result
You may be a good candidate for skin peels if you have any of the following:
- Early wrinkles and fine lines
- Dull, dry skin
- Acne and trauma scars
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Pigmentation from sun damage
- Advanced aging
Skin peels can take anywhere from a few minutes to over 30 minutes to administer. The type of skin peel will also impact the ingredients used within your procedure. At Medicetics, we often use alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, glycolic and lactic acids, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in our skin peels.
Your aftercare will vary depending on the skin peel you opt for. Superficial peels may result in slight redness and sensitivity, meaning clients should always wear sunscreen. Deeper peels can result in flaking, peeling, and temporary dark skin spots. Clients should avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours after any skin peel.
We often recommend an initial series of 3 treatments done at 2-3 week intervals, followed by maintenance peels every8-12 weeks. This maintenance will help you keep your pores unclogged, avoid breakouts, and maintain your glowing skin.
